    Dolpo Trekking

    Turquoise lakes and high passes

Home of the snow leopard and the incredible blue Phoksundo Lake, the two day journey to reach the starting point in the village Juphal is well worth the effort.

While Lower Dolpo offers trekking through deep valleys along the wild Phoksundo River and camping on the bank of the otherworldly turquoise Phoksundo Lake, Upper Dolpo promises an adventure into a restricted area where Tibetan Buddhism and the ancient Bon religion is practiced in its original form.

Trekking to Upper Dolpo is considered an arduous journey, and requires a full service expedition outfit. The Mountain Travel Nepal team will be excited to take you to this unique location in Nepal.

    Highlights

    • Scouting for the elusive Snow Leopard
    • Trekking high above the bright blue Phoksundo Lake
    • Conquering a range of 5000 meter passes
    • Encountering the followers of the ancient Bon religion
    • Sipping Tibetan butter-tea with the locals
