The Tara Hilltop - Sikles Camping Trek is the ideal starting point for first-time trekkers and families, while still offering plenty of challenging opportunities for the intrepid traveller. Treks can be made in low altitude and in short time. This iconic mountain range offers breathtaking views of some of the highest peaks in the world, including the majestic Annapurna and Machhapuchhre himal.

Camping amidst these iconic mountainous views is the highlight of the trek. Waking up to the sight of snowy mountains creates an out-of-body experience and memories that lasts a lifetime. Detailed Itinerary


Day 1: Fly to Pokhara and Overnight

To start off your trekking journey, our team in Kathmandu will assist in transferring your luggage to the airport for your domestic flight to Pokhara. Upon arrival in Pokhara, our representatives will be waiting to drive you to your hotel. You'll have the rest of the day to enjoy Pokhara at your leisure, whether it's exploring the city, taking leisurely strolls, or simply relaxing at your hotel to prepare for the adventures awaiting you the next day.

Note: Kathmandu to Pokhara (35 min flight)

Day 2: Drive to Khadarjung and Start Trek to Ghalekharka (B, L, D)

From Pokhara, we continue our journey by road, accompanied by guides and porters, to the starting point of our trek at Khadarjung. From then onwards we will trek for about 3 – 4 hours to Ghalekharka where we rest for the night. While our dedicated staff prepares the camp, relish the serene atmosphere, accentuated by the views of local villages below. Once the camp is fully set up, it's time to unwind and share the tales of your adventure around the campfire.

Note: Ghalekharka (1,800m), Pokhara –Khadarjung (4 hrs. drive)

Day 3: Trek to Tara Hilltop (B, L, D)

After Breakfast, our trek ascends towards the majestic Tara Hilltop. Along the trek, we will stop at Ghalegaon, immersing ourselves with the local culture and village surroundings. Once on top, we can find breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. In the evening, as we settle into camp, dinner is served, concluding the day with anticipation for the adventures ahead.

Note: Tara Hilltop (2814 m) - Trek time: 4-5 hrs.

Day 4: Trek to Sikles (B, L, D)

As the last stretch of the trek, we journey towards Sikles traversing through jungles that add a touch of adventure. Sikles, nestled within the Annapurna Conservation Area, unveils panoramic views of Annapurna II and IV, along with the Lamjung Himal. Upon reaching Sikles, immerse yourself in the charm of the local Gurung Village or explore the nearby museum. Our staff will set up the camp for the final night.

Note: Sikles (1980 m) – Trek time: 5 hrs.

Day 5: Back to Pokhara

After Breakfast, It’s time to bid farewell to the mountains and trek back to the nearest road point in Parche. From Parche, it’s a 5-hour drive that leads us back to Pokhara. Our staff will then transport you to the airport for your scheduled flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you won't need to worry about your transfer, as MTN staff will be ready to assist you in getting back to your hotel.

Confirmation of booking

All bookings are made in good faith. Once we have received your booking we will send you an invoice giving payment details.

We will require an advance deposit of US$ 200 per person in order to hold your booking on a secure basis with the balance to be paid prior to your arrival in Nepal or you can make the full payment at the time of booking for confirmation.

Terms and Conditions

Cancellation Policy
Arrangements may be cancelled at any time but the cancellation should be communicated to us in writing. Since cancellation incurs administrative costs, we will retain any deposit paid and in addition will apply cancellation charges as follows.
Period before departure within which written cancellation is received, and sum of cancellation charge shown as a percentage of the package price:
  • More than 60 days: Deposit only
  • 31-60 days: 50%
  • 15-30 days: 75%
  • Less than 15 days: 100%
Price Increases
Any unforeseen cost increases beyond our control will be passed on directly to the guest, whenever such increases occur.
This could include (but is not limited to) such items as airfares, fuel costs, government taxes, currency exchange variations, etc. In some cases, an increase might also be applicable if group numbers drop below the originally costed number.

Change of Itinerary
We reserve the right to change or alter any itinerary at any time for reasons beyond our control. These could include but are not limited to adverse weather conditions, cancellation of flights or government restrictions in certain areas.
Whenever we are forced to make such late changes, we will always endeavor to give guests as much advance notice as possible and to ensure that the alternate itinerary achieves, insofar as possible, the objectives of the original tour.

  • Domestic flights from Kathmandu/Pokhara and vice-versa (both the ways)
  • 2 nights at comfort hotel stay on B&B at Pokhara
  • Service of full camping support staffs (guide, sherpas and porters)
  • All meals on trek
  • All tea/coffees on trek (24 hours available during the camping)
  • All communal camping equipment (sleeping tent, dining tent, chairs, tables, shower tent, toilet tent, etc.)
  • Personal equipment: sleeping bag, pillows, liner, camp cot
  • Mountain Travel duffel bag (which you may keep after trek)
  • All necessary trekking permits
  • Trek staff insurance
  • Applicable Government taxes
Cost Excludes
  • Hotel accommodation in Kathmandu (we will book on your request)
  • Any purchases of a personal nature such as bar bills, laundry, etc.
  • Personal insurance in case of emergency
  • Personal clothing and trekking equipment
  • Any rescue costs or costs of early departure
  • Gratuities to guides and Sherpa staffs
