Within a few miles of the Tibetan border, the Larkya La links the upper reaches of the Budhi Gandaki Valley with the Marsyangdi valley and is the key to completing the entire circuit of the Gorkha Himal.

About Manaslu Circuit Trek


The Manaslu Circuit is unspoiled, naturally beautiful remote and amazing trail for the trekkers and adventurers. Trekking through the Manaslu Conservation Area gives an opportunity to observe a vast range of bio-diversities. Manaslu Circuit trek offeres you a genuine trekking experience.

Because of its proximity to the border, this wild and beautiful region remained off limits to trekking parties until 1992 and is still considered off-the-beaten trail. Trade with Tibet in this region is still strong, as the people of the Budhi Gandaki retain the Tibetan culture of their ancestors.

Mountain Travel Nepal’s founder, Lt. Col. J. O. M. Roberts, was a member of Tilman’s exploratory trek in 1950 when he crossed the Larkya La. Hence, our company has a long standing association with the region that no other trekking agency can match.

Trekking through the Manaslu Conservation Area gives an opportunity to observe a vast range of bio-diversities.

Please note that special permits are necessary for this trek. Only organised parties with a liaison/environmental officer are granted permission. At Mountain Travel Nepal we take care of all the red tape, leaving you to enjoy this committing and inspiring Grade 4 (strenuous) trek.

Itinerary
Day 1. Drive to Arughat Bazaar (535m) – 6 to 7 hours driving and again drive to Soti Khola (700m) 2 hours

Day 2. Trek to Macha Khola (930m) – 6 to 7 hours walking.

Day 3. Trek to Jagat (1,410m) - 6 to 7 hours walking.

Day 4. Trek to Deng (1,800m) – 6 to 7 hours walking.

Day 5. Trek to Namrung (2,660m) – 6 to 7 hours walking.

Day 6. Trek to Lho (3,180m) - 4 hours walking

Day 7. Trek to Samagaon (3,450m) - 4 hours walking.

Day 8. Acclimatization Day or Day trip Manaslu Base Camp (4400m) and Birendra lake

Day 9. Trek to Samdo (3,690m) – 3 to 4 hours walking.

Day 10. Trek to Larkya Phedi (4,470m) - 4 to 5 hours walking.

Day 11. Cross the Larkya La (5,106m), trek to Bimtang (3,720m) - 7 to 8 hours walking.

Day 12. Trek to Dharapani (1860m) - 7 to 8 hours walking.

Day 13. Drive to Besisahar 3 to 4 hours and again drive to Kathmandu 7 to 8 hours
Confirmation of booking
All bookings are made in good faith. Once we have received your booking we will send you an invoice giving payment details.

We will require an advance deposit of US$ 200 per person in order to hold your booking on a secure basis with the balance to be paid prior to your arrival in Nepal.
Cancellation policy
Arrangements may be cancelled at any time but the cancellation should be communicated to us in writing. Since cancellation incurs administrative costs, we will retain any deposit paid and in addition will apply cancellation charges as follows.

Period before departure within which written cancellation is received, and sum of cancellation charge shown as a percentage of the package price:
  • More than 60 days: Deposit only
  • 31-60 days: 50%
  • 15-30 days: 75%
  • Less than 15 days: 100%
Price increases
Any unforeseen cost increases beyond our control will be passed on directly to the guest, whenever such increases occur.

This could include (but is not limited to) such items as airfares, fuel costs, government taxes, currency exchange variations, etc. In some cases, an increase might also be applicable if group numbers drop below the originally costed number.
Change of itinerary
We reserve the right to change or alter any itinerary at any time for reasons beyond our control. These could include but are not limited to adverse weather conditions, cancellation of flights or government restrictions in certain areas.

Whenever we are forced to make such late changes, we will always endeavor to give guests as much advance notice as possible and to ensure that the alternate itinerary achieves, insofar as possible, the objectives of the original tour.

  • Experienced English Speaking, government licensed guide and porter and all their expenses during the trek like his transfer, insurance, salary, meals and accommodation (porter will carry max. 20 kg luggage).
