This 8-day Buddhist Cultural Tour will give you an opportunity to experience the sacred Buddhist sites, Buddhist cultural and heritage sites of Nepal. Along with this you will get an overview of the local history, culture, tradition and their way of life. This tour is curated in such a way that will help you to experience the best of Nepal and to explore all the main sacred Buddhist sites of Nepal along with the beautiful places along the way.

Detailed Itinerary


Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu – Leisure day – Overnight at hotel

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you'll be warmly greeted by the Mountain Travel Nepal staff right at the terminal gate. They'll assist you with transportation to your hotel. Once you've settled in, you'll have the rest of the day to leisurely explore.

A great starting point is Thamel, a vibrant neighborhood filled with bustling streets and a diverse array of shops, restaurants, and cafes. Thamel is a popular destination for tourists, offering a unique slice of Kathmandu's culture and lifestyle. You can stroll around, shop for souvenirs, try local cuisine, or simply soak in the atmosphere.

Day 2: Mountain flight tour - Half day UNESCO heritage sites sightseeing tour

The day's adventure kicks off with an early morning mountain flight (packed breakfast will be arranged), offering to take you on a scenic flight over the majestic Himalayas with breathtaking views of some of the world's highest peaks including Mount Everest. Our staff will ensure you have a smooth start, arranging transportation to the airport and assisting you throughout the day.

Following the mountain flight, your tour guide will take you on a half day sightseeing tour at Boudhanath and Swyambhunath. Boudhanath features an impressive Buddhist stupa, renowned as one of the largest in the world and highly revered by Buddhists. This iconic site is encircled by numerous Tibetan Buddhist monasteries representing diverse sects, creating a spiritual and cultural hub in Kathmandu. We'll take a break for lunch at a nearby restaurant.

Next on your itinerary is Swayambhunath, affectionately known as the 'Monkey Temple.' This ancient shrine, with a history spanning over 2500 years, rests atop a hill and offers a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley. The centerpiece of Swayambhunath is the Buddha's compassionate eyes, symbolizing wisdom and unity, which overlook the valley. After our day's adventures, we'll return to our hotel for the night.

Note: Mountain Flight is a 1-hr flight; Airport – Boudhanath: 30mins drive; Boudhanath – Swyambhunath: 1hr drive.

Day 3: Full day UNESCO heritages and monuments sightseeing tour

After breakfast, our representative and tour guide will be ready to drive you to Bhaktapur for a sightseeing tour. This ancient city is located approximately 12 kilometers outside of Kathmandu but is still within the Kathmandu Valley. Once the capital of Nepal in the 15th century, Bhaktapur is now the country's third-largest city and is renowned for its rich culture, temples, and handicrafts.

Our tour guide will provide you with a briefing about the history and significance of Bhaktapur as we explore its well-preserved heritage sites, including ancient temples, courtyards, and traditional Newari architecture. You'll have the opportunity to witness local artisans at work, creating intricate wood carvings, pottery, and other handicrafts for which Bhaktapur is famous. We'll take a break for lunch at a nearby restaurant.

Next, we will head towards Pharping, an ancient Newari town believed to be established before 5th century where Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava meditated and got Enlightenment. It is a sacred Buddhist and Hindu pilgrim and has been auspicious place for mediation. You can choose to go on a short hike around the area. Later, we will head back to your hotel for the night.

Note: Drive to Bhaktapur: 40 mins; Bhaktapur – Pharping: 1:30 hr drive.

Day 4: Fly to Lumbini – Lumbini sightseeing tour

Our team in Kathmandu will assist in transferring your luggage to the airport for your domestic flight to Lumbini. Upon arrival in Lumbini, our representatives will be waiting to drive you to your hotel. After refreshing, your tour guide will accompany you on a sightseeing tour of Lumbini.

You'll visit Lumbini Garden, the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha, where the Mayadevi Temple stands as a significant pilgrimage site. Explore the Pushkarni Pool, believed to be where Mayadevi bathed before giving birth to Siddhartha Gautama. Discover various monasteries constructed by Buddhist followers from around the world, each representing different cultures and interpretations of Buddhism.

Note: KTM – BWA: 40 mins flight. BWA airport – Lumbini: 20 mins drive.

Day 5: Fly (or Drive) to Pokhara – Half day city tour

After breakfast, we will head back to the airport for our flight to Pokhara (you have the option to drive to Pokhara as well). Upon arrival in Pokhara, our representatives will be waiting to drive you to your hotel. Once you've settled in and refreshed, your tour guide will accompany you on a half-day sightseeing tour of Pokhara.

During the sightseeing tour, you may visit popular attractions such as Devi's Fall, Gupteshwor Cave, Seti River Gorge, Mahendra Cave. Return to your hotel to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings of Pokhara.

Day 6: World Peace Stupa tour and activities

On this day, we will go on a tour to the World Peace Stupa (Shanti Stupa), a symbol of peace and harmony located on a hilltop overlooking Pokhara and Fewa Lake. Enjoy panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains from this serene vantage point. After descending from the World Peace Stupa, you'll have the option to enjoy boating on Fewa Lake, exploring nearby attractions, or simply relaxing by the waterfront. In the evening, consider visiting the International Mountain Museum to learn more about the rich mountaineering history of the region and the culture of the Himalayas. We will head back to our hotel for the night.

Day 7: Fly to Kathmandu – Patan sightseeing tour

After breakfast, our representative will assist you with a smooth transfer from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, our representatives will ensure a seamless transfer to your hotel. Following your check-in and refreshment, your tour guide will take you to a sightseeing tour of Patan Durbar Square, located at the heart of Lalitpur, showcasing exquisite art and architecture meticulously crafted by our ancestors on wood and metal. This vibrant city is renowned for its temples, shrines, statues, monuments, festivals, and traditions, all testaments to the artistic legacy of generations past. Enjoy the day exploring Patan's historical landmarks and soaking in its unique ambiance.

You can choose to have dinner at nearby restaurants or you can head back to your hotel for dinner.

Day 8: International Departure

Today is a leisure day until your international flight departure. Take this time to relax and enjoy your final moments in Nepal. Our staff will be available to assist you with any last-minute arrangements or needs. When it's time for your international flight, we'll ensure a smooth transfer from your hotel to the airport.

Confirmation of booking

All bookings are made in good faith. Once we have received your booking we will send you an invoice giving payment details.

We will require an advance deposit of US$ 200 per person in order to hold your booking on a secure basis with the balance to be paid prior to your arrival in Nepal or you can make the full payment at the time of booking for confirmation.

Terms and Conditions

Cancellation Policy
Arrangements may be cancelled at any time but the cancellation should be communicated to us in writing. Since cancellation incurs administrative costs, we will retain any deposit paid and in addition will apply cancellation charges as follows.
Period before departure within which written cancellation is received, and sum of cancellation charge shown as a percentage of the package price:
  • More than 60 days: Deposit only
  • 31-60 days: 50%
  • 15-30 days: 75%
  • Less than 15 days: 100%
Price Increases
Any unforeseen cost increases beyond our control will be passed on directly to the guest, whenever such increases occur.
This could include (but is not limited to) such items as airfares, fuel costs, government taxes, currency exchange variations, etc. In some cases, an increase might also be applicable if group numbers drop below the originally costed number.

Change of Itinerary
We reserve the right to change or alter any itinerary at any time for reasons beyond our control. These could include but are not limited to adverse weather conditions, cancellation of flights or government restrictions in certain areas.
Whenever we are forced to make such late changes, we will always endeavor to give guests as much advance notice as possible and to ensure that the alternate itinerary achieves, insofar as possible, the objectives of the original tour.
